SRBR has extensive experience in planning and designing for commercial and retail businesses across the country. From mega shopping mall with 1.2 million-sq. ft. to small scale 3,000-sq. ft. jewelry store to famous supermarket chains, SRBR’s team has been sought after to lend its engineering expertise.

This mall is a multi-story retail center with a parking garage, adjacent to the existing Washington Metro subway station. Special features of the project included walkway access to the adjacent WMATA station, new residential development on the neighboring project, and a pedestrian bridge connecting to existing retail facilities across the highway. The new retail structure included a health and fitness center with an indoor pool. This project was an example in the design of combining retail, residential and public transportation in a property which was previously only commercial.

SRBR teamed with a prominent local architect to bring new life to a plaza area at the center of the Avenue by designing a shell building that would eventually be leased by a restaurant and retail shop along with an open air space that includes public seating,

decorative lighting, fire features, an ice skating rink in the winter and a family play area in the summer.

SRBR designed two podium style resident building at the bustling Metro Centre, located in Owning Mills, MD. We designed a majority of the tenant fit-outs which include restaurants, a nail salon and retail spaces. Across the street SRBR also designed a

five-story office building with multiple retail tenant spaces at the ground level. These areas serve thousands of residents moving into the growing Owing Mills community.
